Paypal Pro - Signature and Certificate
Posted by Steve Naqvi on 21 August 2009 11:54 PM
You can enter both credentials, the signature and certificate in PayPal Pro, although, only the one you have selected is used (look for the setting at "Security Type") and should match your PayPal account settings.
If you change the checkout mode from OPC to traditional you will see more verbose error messages on why the transaction failed.

You can change it back to OPC after you are done with your tests.

If you use the signature or certificate method, you will need to change the URLs accordingly.

PayPal uses different URLs for their gateway, depending on if you are checking out at the sandbox and depending on, if you use a signature and certificate.

The URLs for SOAP requests, and our PayPal Pro module uses SOAP, are :

Live API-Certificate SOAP https://api.paypal.com/2.0/
Live API-Signature SOAP https://api-3t.paypal.com/2.0/

Sandbox API-Certificate SOAP https://api.sandbox.paypal.com/2.0/
Sandbox API-Signature SOAP https://api.sandbox.paypal.com/2.0/
